Privacy Policy

Overview

TOBIRA respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (very little), how it is used, and your rights. In short: we do not track you and we do not sell your data.

1. Information We Collect

TOBIRA is a read-only, stateless archive. We do not require registration or login. The following limited data may be processed:

• Server logs — Standard web server access logs may record your IP address, browser user-agent, and the pages you visit. These logs are used solely for security monitoring and server administration, and are not shared with third parties.
• Search queries — When you use the search function, your query is sent as a URL parameter to our server to generate results. We do not store a history of individual search queries linked to your identity.

2. Local Storage (My List)

The "My List" feature (favourites and watch-later) stores data exclusively in your browser's local storage on your own device. This data:

• Is never transmitted to our servers
• Is not accessible by us or any third party
• Persists until you clear it or remove individual entries
• Can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser's local storage

3. Cookies

TOBIRA does not set any first-party tracking cookies. No session, analytics, or advertising cookies are used.

Google Fonts is loaded from Google's CDN to render our typography. Google may set its own cookies according to their Privacy Policy. If you prefer to avoid this, you may use a browser extension that blocks third-party fonts.

4. Third-Party Content

Cover images may be served from our local asset cache or from third-party image sources. When loaded from third-party sources, those servers may process your IP address. We use referrerpolicy="no-referrer" on external images to minimise referrer leakage.

5. Analytics

TOBIRA does not use any third-party analytics services (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel). We do not build user profiles, track browsing behaviour across sessions, or share visitor data with advertisers.

6. Data Retention

Server access logs are retained for a limited period (typically 30 days) for security purposes and then deleted. No personally identifiable information is retained beyond this period.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Request access to any personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of any such data
• Object to certain processing activities

Given that we collect minimal identifiable data, most requests can be fulfilled by simply clearing your browser's local storage and cache. For any other concerns, please contact us via our project page.

8. Children's Privacy

TOBIRA is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The archive contains content rated for general audiences; some titles may be suitable for mature audiences only and are labelled accordingly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Archive after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
