While traveling abroad for research, Wen Xi is tricked by loan shark Lao Jia and becomes "trophy" in an underground fighting arena. She is rescued by Xu Zheqing, a Chinese-American private security consultant, and the two escape danger together. Three years later, they reunite. To investigate her sister's death, Wen Xi impersonates her and infiltrates Xu Zheqing's company G.E., where Xu Zheqing is now the head of legal affairs. Their past feelings haven't faded, but they must pretend to be strangers, and Wen Xi also has a "fiancé." In a moment of crisis, Xu Zheqing once again protects her. Ultimately, the two overcome obstacles, bravely confront their inner feelings, and rekindle their romance.
