In the year 2035, virtual reality technology has evolved enough for people to enjoy world travel and other live experiences from the comfort of their own homes. In this virtual reality, idols perform for a worldwide audience. As the popularity of idols increases, the Kanon Private Academy is established on Beginning Island to train new idols. Vivi , Kokona and Sena make up the trio called StarRing , while Miku , Nanami and Yuchou make up the trio called Shadow , and all the six girls aspire to reach the top of the World Idol League.
