Way out to sea, shrouded in fog, lies a spooky island said to the home to a host of terrifying monsters. Even to approach it is forbidden. Yet, one day, a human child, Kotake , loses his way and ends up face to face with the mysterious creatures that live there. Kotake's appearance sparks a panic amidst the world of the monsters. Actually, the monsters themselves live in fear of humans. They entrust the care of the infant to the rough-and-tumble red demon, Naki and his side-kick, blue demon Gunjou .
