Fujita Reiji is an ex-curator of the Metropolitan Museum of art in New York. He was very good at it, thus earning his nickname, 'professor', but lost his position due to conspiracies against him. After returning to Japan he runs a gallery named "Gallery Fake", because apparently he only displays reproductions of well-known works. But he gets rich by trading stolen works and making illegal drains from other galleries. Sarah, a young woman descendant of an Arab royal family, became his assistant after Fujita found a stolen picture from her home.
